The winners of the 10th International Landscape Photographer of the Year have been announced.
Before we get to the photographs, a quick explainer on the categories. There are two main awards – Photographer of the Year (portfolio of 4 images) and Photograph of the Year (single image). Within these categories a first, second and third place are up for grabs. Then, there are 5 special subject awards, which just have one winner each (Black and White, Aerial, Snow and Ice, Seascape, Desert). Let’s get to the winners!
Australian Tony Hewitt won the International Landscape Photographer of the Year for 2023, with his abstract portfolio of Western Australian tidal areas. Take a look at his four winning images below:
The winner of the Photograph of the Year went to Blake Randall, Canada, with a beautiful photo from Abraham Lake, Alberta.
Next up are the five special subject awards. To remind you, these are: Black & White, Aerial, Snow & Ice, Seascape and Desert.
This year’s award winners are clearly well deserved! That being said, ILPOTY recognise the Top 101 photos submitted, as they say, “once you reach a certain level of brilliance, is it really possible to definitively say one photograph is better than another?” Therefore, Lens Front have also highlighted our favourite ‘non-winners’ from the Top 101 in a post here.
