So, you are looking to get into photography, and for one reason or another you’ve decided to get a Sony. However, there are so many options to choose from nowadays, so which Sony should you buy? Check out this great video by Youtuber That Icelandic Guy:
In his video, the creator goes into some great detail, comparing APS-C and full frame cameras, and helps the viewer decide what is best for them. Overall, he comes to the conclusion that for most beginners, the Sony A6400 is most suitable as it is a great all-round camera for photography and videography, and is very affordable. Despite admitting it has the same sensor as the Sony A6300, it doesn’t have IBIS, and only 8-bit colour, and in many ways is the ‘same camera’, the A6400 comes with a flip-up screen, and it is a great ‘hybrid’ camera that can do it all. The Icelandic Guy goes on to say he built up his career while using the A6400 – so it is safe to say it can definitely perform well.
If you have a bit more money to spend, the A6700 is the way to go. Unlike the A6400, it has IBIS, larger batteries, and additional controls on the camera.
Of course, everyone has a different opinion when it comes to picking the ‘right’ camera. Some will even say it is wrong to get fixated on one specific brand, especially as a beginner with no commitment to lenses and other brand-specific gear – which is definitely a good point. However, there is still plenty of great advice in the video above, so if you’d like to see more from The Icelandic Guy, check out his Youtube channel here.
