Getty Images Royal Photographer Chris Jackson has been photographing the British royal family for over 20 years. He shared an inside look into this life, speaking to TODAY in the video below.

I find this a fascinating insight, as we don’t often get to hear from people that are frequently around the royal family. Chris, in the video, explains how he plans for the overseas trips by reading through the highly-detailed programme, figuring out which events require what type of gear.

Despite the trips being so well-organised, Chris says “anything can happen” so he is always prepared for what may occur. He goes on to tell us some of his favourite shoots, ranging from India with then-Prince Charles to Germany, where Princess Charlotte received her first ever bouquet of flowers. I think that most of other photographers, myself included, can only dream of getting to travel to all these wonderful places for work.

If you would like to check out Chris Jackson’s work, you can visit his website here or have a look at his Instagram @chrisjacksongetty. Thank you to TODAY for giving us this great inside look into life as a royal photographer.
